Lourdes University and the Sisters of St. Francis of Sylvania will celebrate Catholic Sisters Week with a Hygiene Drive to benefit Bethany House and Sylvania Area Family Services. Donations can be dropped off at Franciscan Center, 6832 Convent Blvd, Sylvania, OH 43560.
National Catholic Sisters Week (NCSW) takes place each year in March. During that week, women religious are honored through various events that instruct, enlighten and bring greater focus to the lives of these incredible women who have done so much for communities across the nation.
On March 7, the eve of Catholic Sisters Week, a virtual unveiling of the Mother Adelaide Sandusky statue near the Portiuncula is scheduled. The statue was designed by Lourdes University Art Instructor Patrick DuBreuil and Sister Magdala Davlin. Mother Adelaide founded The Sisters of St. Francis of Sylvania and Lourdes University.
