In the news...

The City of Sylvania has withdrawn its petition to annex Sylvania Township properties.

**Did you complete the Annexation Survey? Over 500 Sylvanians voted in less than 48 hours, up until 9:00 a.m. on December 10.  At that time the survey results were made public and given to the Lucas County Commissioners. Forty-five minutes later, the City of Sylvania withdrew its petition.

"At 9:45 this morning, just over an hour before the Lucas County Commissioners were scheduled to vote on the City of Sylvania's current annexation efforts, the City sent an email to Lucas County stating the City was withdrawing the petition. In the email, Sylvania's Law Director Leslie Brining also stated the City would be re-filing a new petition for annexation, thus continuing its effort to annex Sylvania Township property."

**Full survey results, including details and comments submitted, will be published in the next Sylvania Community newsletter. (To subscribe click here: )

Lucas County Board of Commissioners will vote on Tuesday, Dec. 10 at 11 a.m. in the first floor hearing room at One Government Center on whether to approve or disapprove a forced annexation attempt by the City of Sylvania of about 50 homes in Sylvania Township near King and Brint roads.
