*Plummer Pool & Centennial Quarry - We are saddened to announce that Plummer Pool and Centennial Quarry will not be opening for the 2020 season. The State of Ohio guidelines for the safe opening of public pools are very specific and require careful monitoring and enforcement of social distancing on the pool deck and while in the water. While our first priority is always the safety of patrons and our aquatic staff, we have concerns regarding our ability to effectively enforce these guidelines. Those guidelines can be found here…/re…/Pools-Aquatic-Centers.pdf

*Sports & Exhibition Center Events - All events scheduled at The Sylvania Sports & Exhibition Center (SSEC) for the foreseeable future have been postponed to a later date or cancelled. Any scheduled events in June and beyond continue to be monitored closely.

*Centennial Terrace Events - Sylvania Recreation and JNP Concerts are deeply saddened to announce that the 2020 Centennial Terrace Summer Concert Series is canceled this summer. This announcement includes: The Temptations & The Four Tops, The Beach Boys, STYX, Get The Led Out and The Happy Together Tour.

*Other seasonal events commonly held at Centennial Terrace are being monitored closely and decisions regarding those events will be made according to future State/Local mandates and/or social distancing guidelines.

It was announced on Tuesday, May 26th that the Star Spangled Celebration will not take place.

*Outdoor Athletic Fields and Parks - Pacesetter Park and Veterans Memorial Field (EXCEPT for Playgrounds) are now open for public use.

• While using these facilities, it is imperative that you adhere to these social distancing recommendations;

The health and safety of our community is our top priority. We thank you for your patience and understanding as we all do our part to mitigate the spread of this virus. After careful consideration, and conversations with numerous local officials, Sylvania Recreation, The City of Sylvania and Sylvania Township have jointly made the decision to cancel the 2020 Sylvania Star Spangled Celebration fireworks show. This annual 3rd of July event is considered one of the best firework shows in NW Ohio and is an event that brings the entire community together to celebrate our nations independence.

The health and safety of our residents, guests, employees and contractors remain of utmost importance to the community of Sylvania. Recommended guidelines for operation cannot be maintained currently nor in the foreseeable future for mass gatherings such as the July 3rd Fireworks.
