Women of Toledo Hosts 4th Intercultural Gala to Support Local Programs
Sylvania vounteers and board members welcome the community 

Toledo, Ohio - Women of Toledo is hosting its 4th Intercultural Gala on Friday, November 22, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Pinnacle in Maumee, Ohio.

The Intercultural Gala is a fundraising event for the Women of Toledo, in which proceeds will support local women and youth program through education, engagement, and empowerment.The Gala will benefit two major Women of Toledo programs and services: educational initiatives and women’s connection.

This year’s theme is “Night Around the World.” The attire is formal, and guests are encouraged to wear ethnic or traditional attire. Throughout the evening, professional dance groups will perform in styles from around the world. The evening also will feature raffle prize baskets, a photo booth, and a DJ entertainment.


All are welcome to attend. Tickets for the gala are $65 dollars each or two tickets for $110. Guests can select between a chicken, beef, or vegetarian options for the plated dinner prepared by the Pinnacle. The event will also include a full-service cash bar.


The emcee of the event will be Laura Emerson Slusher, former NBC 24 news anchor and current Edward Jones Financial Advisor.
“Dance is a universal language that brings cultures, people and groups together,” said Nasim Nabiyouni, chair of the Intercultural Gala. “The 2019 Gala is the unique opportunity to celebrate diversity and inclusion by dancing." In 2018, Women of Toledo (WOT) served 1,219 women and youth with 68% of our participants having free access to our program and services. WOT’s Women’s Connection program impacted 187 women by increasing their access to economic resources, job opportunities, financial services, skills development, and peer-network support.

Women of Toledo was established in 2013 to build a community of diverse women and youth advocating for diversity and inclusion while focusing on economic empowerment. Their mission is to engage, educate and empower local women and young women to keep moving forward. They offer educational programs, intergenerational leadership development and mentoring and meaningful dialogue and coaching sessions – all proven to have a high impact in diversity and positive social change. In addition, WOT provides services to all women interested in increasing their network, connections and professional opportunities through a connecting Hub.
